About Allan's Hope
Allan's Hope, Inc. was formed after the tragic death of Allan J. Wertz, who was killed in an automobile
accident on September 8, 2009. His employer, Burns White, started an education fund for his two small
children and along with his family and friends, began raising money. From the success of those efforts a
non-profit corporation was formed to benefit others who are faced with financial hardship due to the loss of
Allan's Hope Inc. is a tax exempt public charity under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code
providing financial assistance to children and their families in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Metropolitan
area (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties) who have
suffered the death of a parent. Our programs include college/trade school educational assistance,
immediate need assistance and day care assistance in the form of monetary grants paid directly to the

Allan's Hope is an all volunteer nonprofit corporation. No salaries or monies of any kind are paid out to our
officers or volunteers. All contributions and event proceeds, less operating expenses, go directly to benefit
the children and their families.
